Where are appointments held?
Privacy Check-Ups are held in Shrewsbury.
Urvantis Privacy does not currently have a permanent office in the town, so appointments are arranged at suitable private office and meeting-room locations around Shrewsbury.
Your exact location will always be confirmed before you book and pay.
How much does a Privacy Check-Up cost?
A 90-minute Privacy Check-Up costs £79.
That is the full price for the session. There are no subscriptions or unexpected extras.
Who will I meet?
Your Check-Up will be with Ben Oakley, Founder and Personal Privacy Adviser at Urvantis Privacy.
Ben represents Urvantis in Shrewsbury and provides the face-to-face Privacy Check-Up service.
What is the difference between Urvantis and Urvantis Privacy?
Urvantis provides privacy and data-protection support for businesses.
Urvantis Privacy focuses on individuals and families, helping ordinary people better understand and control their personal digital privacy.
Both are operated by Urvantis Privacy Limited, a UK registered company.
What should I bring?
Bring the phone you use most often.
You can also bring a tablet or laptop if there is something specific you would like to look at during the session.
It is useful to make sure you can access your important accounts before attending.
Will you need my passwords?
No.
You should never tell us your passwords, PINs or device passcodes.
If a password is needed during the Check-Up, you enter it yourself.
Will you look through my messages, photographs or personal information?
Not as part of a normal Privacy Check-Up.
We may need to open settings or account pages that contain personal information, but we only look at what is necessary for the Check-Up.
If something could reveal particularly private information, we will explain why we need to access that area and ask you first.
Your device. Your passwords. Your choice.
What happens to information you see during my appointment?
Privacy is the whole point of the service.
We aim to collect and retain as little personal information as possible. Your appointment is not recorded, and we do not keep copies of information from your phone simply because we have seen it during the session.
Any information we do need to retain for providing the service is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Do you take my phone away or work on it without me?
No.
You stay with your device throughout the Check-Up.
We go through things together, explain what different settings mean and only make changes you are comfortable with.
Do I need to be good with technology?
Absolutely not.
The service is designed for ordinary people, not technology experts.
Everything is explained in plain English and you can ask questions at any point.
Do I need to have a privacy problem before booking?
No.
Many people simply want reassurance that their phone, accounts and privacy settings are sensible.
A Check-Up can be preventative, just like checking something before there is a problem.
Can you tell me if my phone has been hacked?
A Privacy Check-Up is not a digital-forensics or hacking investigation.
We can help you improve account and device privacy, but we do not investigate malware, spyware, stalking or suspected criminal access to a device.
If your situation falls outside the Check-Up, we will tell you before you book where possible.
Will you try to sell me software or subscriptions?
No.
Urvantis Privacy is not built around selling antivirus software, VPN subscriptions or other products during your appointment.
Where a particular tool may genuinely help, we can explain your options without pressure.
What will I leave with?
You will leave with a clearer understanding of your digital privacy and the changes made during your session.
You will also receive a simple Urvantis Privacy Plan showing what we reviewed, what you are already doing well and any useful next steps.
What if we cannot cover everything in 90 minutes?
We prioritise the areas most useful to you.
There is no expectation that every possible privacy setting must be examined in one appointment.
If there are things worth returning to later, they can simply be included in your Privacy Plan.
What if I need to cancel or rearrange?
We understand that plans change.
Please email us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or move your appointment. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice where possible.
Any payment, cancellation and refund terms will be made clear before you pay for your appointment.
How do I arrange a Privacy Check-Up?
Simply get in touch by email.
You can ask any questions first, and we will confirm whether a Privacy Check-Up is suitable for you and offer available appointment times in Shrewsbury.
There is no obligation to book just because you contact us.
